Puerto Blest & Los Cántaros Waterfall

Departing from Puerto Pañuelo, on the Llao Llao Peninsula, this excursion offers a one-hour cruise during which you will see Centinela Islet, where the remains of Francisco Pascasio Moreno — known as Perito Moreno and considered the father of Argentina's National Parks — rest, before arriving at the Los Cántaros Waterfall.

From there, walking uphill, you can venture into the lush vegetation of the Valdivian rainforest, reach Lake Cántaros — the source of the waterfall — and admire the impressive presence of a larch tree over 1,500 years old.

After just five more minutes of sailing you arrive at Puerto Blest, a place that has amazed visitors from all over the world for decades. From there you can visit the bay and explore the shores of Lake Frías, whose distinctive green waters originate from one of the glaciers of Cerro Tronador, the natural boundary between Argentina and Chile.

Lake Frías extension (optional): departs from Puerto Blest. The journey begins with a 3 km bus ride to Puerto Alegre, where passengers board a modern vessel to navigate Lake Frías. The lake's distinctive green colour is due to tiny particles of pulverised rock created by the friction of glaciers against the walls of Cerro Tronador, whose impressive white summit rises above the surrounding forest — a view that can only be appreciated from the water. After approximately 20 minutes the boat arrives at Puerto Frías, near the border with Chile, for a short stop. The extension is optional but highly recommended for the landscapes it offers.
